Many production establishments, enterprises and cooperatives in Ninh Thuan have quickly seized the opportunity, put their products on e-commerce platforms, and boosted product consumption through online platforms.
In the context of e-commerce growing strongly, becoming a modern business trend, bringing many outstanding benefits in terms of time, cost and market expansion, Ninh Thuan province is actively applying this platform to promote and improve the efficiency of consumption of OCOP products and local specialty products.
* Bringing OCOP products far and wide
Many production establishments, enterprises and cooperatives in Ninh Thuan have quickly seized the opportunity, putting their products on e-commerce platforms such as Sendo, Lazada, Tiki, Shopee, Buudien.vn, social networking platforms, and the province's e-commerce platform (sanphamninhthuan.vn). These online sales channels are proving to be effective in consuming a variety of OCOP products, typical of the locality, from agricultural products such as grapes, apples, aloe vera, green asparagus, shallots, garlic, grape molasses, etc. to processed products and seafood such as anchovy fish sauce, dried seafood, bird's nest, dried tragacanth gum, seaweed jam, goat meat, lamb, etc.

Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Anh, Deputy Director of JiJi Ninh Thuan Food and Spices Company Limited (Tri Hai Commune, Ninh Hai District) said that the company currently has five lines of anchovy fish sauce products. The product is manufactured according to a traditional process combined with patented technology that has been registered for exclusive protection, using fresh pineapple juice to soften the taste, reduce saltiness, and preserve the natural flavor of traditional fish sauce. All products meet food safety and hygiene standards, and are recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as 4-star OCOP products with two product lines: 30-degree nitrogen fish sauce (premium type) and 50-degree nitrogen fish sauce (super special type).
Ms. Hoang Thi Phuong Anh shared: "In addition to traditional sales channels, we have promoted product consumption on e-commerce platforms Shopee, Lazada, Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, OCOP stores... to help the product be widely promoted and reach more customers, achieving a consumption output of over 1,000 liters of various types of fish sauce per month".

Mr. Tran Quoc Sanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Ninh Thuan province, said that the activity of putting products on e-commerce platforms is being actively implemented by production and business establishments. The province's e-commerce platform alone (sanphamninhthuan.vn) has attracted 96 units with 418 products, of which 100% of OCOP products with 3 stars or more have been put on the platform. In parallel, the Department has provided many practical support packages for businesses and establishments such as: building 14 online brand sets, 18 separate e-commerce websites, supporting 18 retail software and helping 220 units apply electronic contracts in transactions.
In addition, commercial banks in the province have actively deployed modern electronic payment solutions such as: Internet banking, mobile banking, digital banking, QR code, POS... to maximize convenience for online transactions. The Department of Industry and Trade also regularly organizes in-depth training sessions on e-commerce for enterprises, production facilities, OCOP entities, and business households in the area to improve their capacity to apply digital technology and promote product consumption through online platforms.
* Strengthening support solutions
Ninh Thuan is aiming to become one of the leading localities in applying e-commerce and developing the digital economy. The province has identified four main pillars for developing the digital economy, including: e-commerce combined with cashless payments; digitalization of economic sectors; digital governance; digital data. The province aims that by 2025, the digital economy will account for 12% of the province's GRDP; e-commerce revenue will reach 7% of total retail sales, and 100% of OCOP products will be put on domestic e-commerce platforms.
Emphasizing the important role of e-commerce in the current context, Vice Chairman of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee Trinh Minh Hoang affirmed that the development of e-commerce closely linked with trade promotion activities will create a strong driving force to boost production, expand consumption markets and boost exports. Online platforms bring many practical benefits, helping businesses access modern distribution methods, save costs and improve competitiveness. Therefore, the province is focusing on mobilizing all resources to support the consumption of OCOP products and specialty products; encourage investment in building technical infrastructure and developing high-quality human resources for e-commerce.

To concretize the goals and strategies for e-commerce development, in 2025, Ninh Thuan province plans to spend 685 million VND on support activities. The provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with the provincial Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion and related units to focus on implementing key groups of tasks including: building and developing online sales channels on popular e-commerce platforms; operating and continuously upgrading the province's specific e-commerce platform (sanphamninhthuan.vn); organizing in-depth training programs on e-commerce; strengthening connections, supporting businesses, cooperatives and OCOP entities to effectively participate in e-commerce platforms; develop a detailed plan for e-commerce development in the period 2026 - 2030.
In the coming time, Ninh Thuan province will continue to promote cooperation programs with training units, providing in-depth consulting on online sales processes, business models, transactions between businesses and businesses (B2B) and between businesses and consumers (B2C); guiding the integration of online payments, improving effective product promotion and marketing skills in the digital age. At the same time, the province will strengthen coordination with agencies such as the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Vietnam E-commerce Association to organize connection activities, bringing products to major e-commerce platforms.
The province requires competent agencies to tighten management, inspection, and supervision of goods quality and transactions in the online environment to build trust, protect the rights of consumers and businesses, and contribute to promoting the strong development of e-commerce.
